The Central East Accommodation & Care Alliance Inc (CEACA) was established in 2012 following research identifying a significant shortage of suitable housing, health care beds and age-appropriate accommodation across the Central East Wheatbelt.
CEACA is a registered charity and Tier 3 Community Housing Organisation, providing affordable and accessible housing for seniors, people living with disabilities, people on low incomes and others experiencing hardship. Its membership includes the Shire of Mukinbudin and other Central East Wheatbelt local governments.
Through Royalties for Regions funding, CEACA developed 71 accessible two-bedroom homes across 11 participating shires. The Shire of Mukinbudin has four CEACA two-bedroom living units, providing affordable, appropriately designed accommodation for eligible residents.
CEACA properties are designed to support independent living, with homes incorporating Liveable Housing Guidelines principles to improve accessibility, safety and adaptability. Rents are subsidised at approximately 25% below market rent.
CEACA works with local governments, support agencies and community organisations to provide secure, affordable housing that enables residents to remain living in their local community, close to family, services and social networks.
