Doctor Recruitment
As the public is aware the Shire of Mukinbudin in conjunction with Mt Marshall, Trayning and Nungarin purchased the Kununoppin Medical Practice from Doctor Radunovich late last year. Over the past twelve months the Shire's have been working extremely hard to recruit a new Doctor for the Kununoppin Medical Practice. On the 20th March 2009 we recieved an expression of interest from Doctor Ullah who is currently working in Perth and is looking to make a move to the rural area.
A subsequent interview was held with Doctor Ullah on 30th March 2009 and a formal offer was made over the following days. I am pleased to confirm that on Monday 6th April Doctor Ullah Advised that he will accept the offer and that the Shire's can proceed with drawing up a formal contract.
It is anticipated that if all goes well we should see Dr Ullah commence around June 2009. The recruitment for the replacement of administration staff will commence in the coming weeks. If you have any further queries on this matter please contact Trevor Smith 9047 1102.
Swimming Pool Meeting
7.00pm Wednesday 29th April 2009 - Shire Chambers
A public meeting will be held to discuss the refurbishment of the Mukinbudin Swimming Pool and associated building and infrastructure. At this time it is anticipated that a funding application will be made in 2009 for possible refurbishment after the 2009/2010 swimming season.
Council is looking for community input to whether a 50m pool is required, design changes to the toddlers pools, and any other features that the community might like to see incorporated in a redevelopment. Suggested improvements include relocating the gymnasium to the pool and adding a small indoor heated hydrotherapy pool for all year use.
Possbile designs will be available at the meeting for comment. This opportunity will only happen once every 50 years so now is the time to speak up. If anyone has any queries please contact Trevor Smith at the Shire Office 9047 1102.
